You’re Beautiful

December 13, 2006 at 9:11 pm (Blogroll)

This video really says it all. No matter what society tries to tell us or our children we need to teach them that beauty is truly on the inside of a person. Obviously the people that we see in magazines and on television aren’t what they seem they are edited and morphed into something other than themselves. It’s like the last line of the film states “No wonder our perception of beauty is distorted”

I Would Like to Thank…..

December 11, 2006 at 10:45 pm (Blogroll)

The last few weeks awards shows have flooded our television programming, and at the start of every acceptence speech we all hear the words ” I would like to thank God….”. What are you thanking him for? The piece of metal in your hands, the millions of dollars you made, the nice clothes you wear, the gigantic house you bought that could house two families and there is only one of you? The last time I checked to God that is not important let me quote

Luke 12:15-21

15 Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”

16 Then he told them a story: “A rich man had a fertile farm that produced fine crops.

17 He said to himself, ‘What should I do? I don’t have room for all my crops.’

18 Then he said, ‘I know! I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then I’ll have room enough to store all my wheat and other goods.

19 And I’ll sit back and say to myself, “My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!”’

20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’

21 “Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”

Do you think millions of dollars will buy you place in heaven? Do you think Gods going to call you up in your Ferrari Enzo wearing Prada, and Gucci? I think not. If you were smart you would use that money for a greater good. There are millions of starving children in AMERICA, if we are going to start giving to the hungry why not start in our own backyard not in Namibia. There are millions of homeless children in AMERICA why not adopt them and give the loving homes? How about helping rebuild a city like New Orleans, cleaning up the streets of Detroit, giving children that don’t have much a chance to better their lives. How about thanking God for being able to sing or act so that you can help others with your gift. How about thanking God for being able to wake up every morning, for being able to see, walk, hear, for making you 20 minutes late so that you weren’t a part of that car accident you just passed by. Come on people don’t you get it? Don’t you see what is really important take 1 Timothy 5:10

10 and is well known for her good deeds, such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of the saints, helping those in trouble and devoting herself to all kinds of good deeds.

Wouldn’t you rather be known for your good deeds than your best selling album? You thank God, but in fact the greed, vanity, and selfishness you exhibit are truly the work of the devil.

MTV Facilitates Racism

December 11, 2006 at 3:53 pm (Blogroll)

Maybe its just me but has anyone else noticed the complete idiocy of the producers and watchers of the MTV’s Real World? I mean every season they put whites, blacks, and at least one gay person in the house. They purposely do this for so called entertainment, I mean I am personally offended by this. Why do people feel the need to keep fanning the flames of hate? Why do they feel the need to keep on with racial profiling? They portray all blacksto be angry about the past and all white people are racist, and we are all bigots. We have all come to far to let ignorant people keep pulling us back. When my daughter comes to me and asks me about people of other races, I tell her that people come in all colors, shapes, and sizes. The outside is not what is important its what is inside that counts. We are all human we all have the same blood running through our veins, the only difference is our race and our culture. We should embrace our differences and share them not hate, ridicule, or scoff them. If a five year old can accept it, why can’t we as adults do the same? Why can’t we see that ignorance is everywhere, in all races there will always be ignorant people, but we have rise above it. We are all equals no race is superior and never has been. I hope that MTV will see that with every fresh mind that sees these things and buys into the ignorance, they are just creating a new breed of hate. I hope my children see a time when we embrace our differences not hate them.
